Brandon Davies

I find myself in a tough position trying to evaluate this situation. I am a fan of rules. I am a fan of following the rules. Brandon Davies has been kicked off the BYU basketball team and it seems that his violation of the Honor Code was for having sex with his girlfriend. I vehemently opposed Terrelle Pryor, etc for their involvement in selling memorabilia, because they knew the rules and they broke them. I'm sure that Davies knew the rules at BYU, however...hmmm...it seems pretty tough to kick a kid off a college basketball team for having sex. I can have two stances on this.
1. Davies knew the rule and broke the rule, his punishment is just.
2. What kind of archaic belief system agrees in punishing a young individual for having sex with a girlfriend/boyfriend?
...Without expounding on this, I will push my allegiance towards point #2.

C's Game

Just got last minute tix and went to the game with my sister. Lots of fun. KG showed up and apparently Channing Frye didn't get the memo. Jared Dudley, you're my favorite BC player ever but don't call out KG on twitter. That's dumb. Anyways KG was lights out and Frye got abused defensively. Actually the whole Suns team did. I know it's the end of a road trip but wow their D is atrocious. They routinely doubled the ball-handler (rondo) on pick&roll's and Nash can't even cover him one v one so lots of easy assists. The C's ball movement and extra pass was as good as it's been all year. Krstic doesn't get the C's D strategy yet and switches too much himself leaving The Truth on Lopez in the first quarter, but that is a situation that will be resolved. Big thanks to Brian Hughes for giving me the tix. Lets see some other thoughts....Brooks played well, Nash barely played and can't cover Rajon. VC missed multiple J's. He wishes he was a better scorer. Jeff Green can score and looked good in his first game in Boston, Troy-GET UP BABY. Had at least three layups/dunks blocked. Still happy we signed him though. Good W, loved KG crushing Frye and Paul dunking on Frye, the T was worth it. Ray hit every three he needed to tonight and RR found him very well.

Monster Dunk

Quincy Acy just dunked so hard he broke the shot clock. Literally it turned off. Also, Baylor has played two D2 teams, so their 18 wins are really 16 vs D1 teams. Maybe I need to do some research but the only D2 team that a D1 team should ever play is Chaminade, and if you don't know why this is the case, well......you aren't a very big NCAABB fan....And let me stand corrected as Mr. Gottlieb just corrected himself and said they have only 1 win against a D2 team and it was a Baptist college. Those crazy southern religious zealots....

Country Music

I think my time in South is kicking in as I played CCR greatest hits with the windows down today and have a newly found affinity for the Zac Brown Band.

K St/Texas

1. McGruder is playing awesome.
2. Knight is reaffirming why he's my favorite announcer in basketball.
3. Pullen is not playing great but hit a big three late in the shot clock and is generally able to dictate flow with how fast he is and get to the line (at the least) in transition. He may take them on a run this coming month.
4. Texas is shooting very poorly.

D Will

I had always liked Deron Williams and I still love his game. Love that he can knock down shots so you don't need to take the ball out of his hands at the end of a game if you need a bucket. But lets look at what just happened. He forced the longest tenured coach in the NBA, Jerry Sloan, into retirement and then, AND THEN, got traded. Lots of player disagree with coaches and lots of players get traded. But, to force the coach out then still have management not on your side enough to keep you, it makes you wonder about his character/the bridges he burned in Utah, because everybody knows the guy can play ball. A top 5 pg, no question about it.
