I love that Bonds was found guilty. I think he is a bad individual who knowingly took steroids, deceived and cheated the game of baseball and it's fans along with the federal government's grand jury. Even if the three charges to which the jury was deadlocked on are never able to be proven, I hope the government re-tries him on these charges simply to put him through another trial.

Kobe I Got Your Back...Until the Finals that Is...
1. My bad. I've been MIA for a while.
2. I have abstained from swearing on this blog.
3. Now I'm going to swear, simply, so I can portray things accurately.
4. Last night after getting a technical foul, Kobe yelled "fucking faggot" and today the NBA fined him $100,000 for the remarks. I'm disgusted. Not by the comment, by the fine. Kobe, and everyone else for that matter, can say whatever they want on the court.
Here is an excerpt from Michael Leahy's "When Nothing Else Matters" a book written about Michael Jordan's years with the Wizards.
One day after practice, having noticed Kwame palming yet another basketball in solitary amusement, Jordan palmed two balls, extending his arms and shouting to Brown: "Hey, Kwame, you know what the difference is between you doing this and me doing this?" Brown looked stumped. Jordan laughed and yelled, "They pay me thirty-five million when I do it."
...Jordan's infatuation with his protege waned. He thought Brown was cocky and disrespectful sometimes, particularly when the teenager nagged him about playing a one-on-one game, hinting that doom awaited him. ...With the criticism mounting and his play getting worse, Brown became maddeningly frustrated, a kid convinced he was being repeatedly fouled in intrasquad scrimmages by two veterans, Christian Laettner and Jahidi White, who weren't quick enough, Brown believed, to stay with him. He would drive toward the basket and feel himself being bumped by a hard hip, sometimes losing the ball, infuriated that the referees wouldn't blow a whistle. "That was a foul," he finally groaned.
Play stopped. There was an electric silence. A wide-eyed Jordan was walking toward him. "You fucking flaming faggot," Jordan exploded. "You don't get a foul call on a goddamn little touch foul, you fucking faggot. You don't bring that faggoty shit here. Get your goddamn ass back on the floor and play. I don't want to hear that fucking shit out of you again. Get your ass back and play, you faggot."
I have absolutely no problem with people being gay.
I'm sure after the following piece you may believe that I think differently, but truly I do not care if people are homosexual or heterosexual.
Kobe Bryant did not walk into a GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) convention and call them "faggots."
He did not see two gay fans at the Staples Center and call them "faggots."

A ref that was so affected by Kobe yelling at him that he...wait for this...did nothing. He did nothing.
If Kobe Bryant offends you, then don't watch the fucking NBA.
In fact just don't fucking watch sports because the athletes are going to swear.
99% (and this is a low guess because it's probably closer to 99.9999999%) of the NBA swears. That can easily be said for professional athletes across the board.
Had he called the ref a "fucking bitch" would women across America have united against him?
If he said "that wasn't a goddamn foul" would pious individuals have united against him?

Due to the sensitive nature of homosexuality in America, homosexuals are given the leeway to make issues out of non-issues. To spark a debate where none is necessary. In the true parlance of our time does the word "gay" really mean homosexual? It seems to me that it means "dumb, boring, uncool, etc."
I wish Kobe, upon hearing about his fine, said "that's pretty gay."
I love sports. I hate that people who have no attachment to the game of basketball are able to invade the sport to advance an issue, I'm not really sure what the issue is (less swearing?). To think that being a homosexual allows you (well let me stop myself, people are allowed to do lots of things), to think that being a homosexual makes it a good idea to utilize the ultra-magnified camera's of the NBA to point out that a star player used the word "faggot" and used it not in a comment on anyone's sexuality, but simply out of frustration is wrong. It's not a good idea. It's a non sequitor.
Kobe Bryant does not go to the GLAAD headquarters to let them know that ultimate advancement of homosexuality would threaten life as we know it due to the obvious lack of procreation that homosexuality leads to. On a lesser note, Kobe Bryant doesn't go see homosexuals when they are frustrated and question them on the language they use. I'll leave the obvious leap to the racial issue and those words alone, but is it okay for a homosexual to use the word "faggot"?
What is actually more offensive Kobe using the word "faggot" or Shaq calling the Sacramento Kings the "Sacramento Queens"? Was that not obviously a jab at their manhood, their sexuality?
This could go on forever. Simply put, this (by "this" I mean sports, all sports) is a man's game. Athletes get paid tremendous sums of money, and fans pay tremendous sums of money to watch these athletes, to entertain, and to win games. How do you win games? You prove your manhood. You show how tough you are. Yes, athletes swear. Sometimes these swears offend people. However, for an outside party to be offended by an athlete swearing at another person involved in the contest, is ludicrous. Leave sports alone and keep politics/civic activism out of it.
